The Motor City
Model Boat Club extends an open invitation to model boaters of all levels and ages,
from those who’ve just purchased their first boat to those who have been racing
either nitro, electric or gas powered boats for years.
•The Motor City Model Boat Club (MCMBC) was
organized in 1958 (under the name Ford Model Boat Club) to foster and promote
the sport of R/C Boat Racing in South East Michigan.
•MCMBC members have exclusive use of a pond located
in Ash Twp. Michigan during the summer months for practice and testing.
•As a member of a group of boat racers you will be
exposed the vast experience that individual club racers have. And as a group,
these members can share information with you to get you up and
running/competing in no time.
•The MCMBC hosts monthly fun runs at the Ash Twp.
pond where the whole family can get involved and prepare you and your kids for
racing in a District race.
•The MCMBC operates under its own rules and those
of the International Model Power Boating Association also known as the IMPBA.
•The MCMBC participates in the IMPBA District 2
race series and hosts a district club race the 3rd weekend in June
each year.
•The MCMBC has a monthly meeting the 2nd
Thursday of each month at 7:00pm. In the summer the meetings are held at the
Ash Twp. Pond, and in the winter the meetings are held in a predetermined
location in the area.
